Tweed Waistcoat

Our traditional Irish waistcoat features a full tweed fabric outside (front and back), a five button front, two welt pockets, a bak belt and the same black cotton blend lining as out tweed jacket.

See size guide below.

The traditional Irish waistcoat differs from its modern equivalent principally at the back! Waistcoats seen today will usually have a lining back, with cloth only at the front… but the traditional Irish waistcoat features cloth front and back!

It was made with a cloth back (and the heavier and more robust cotton lining) as it was a real working garment! Worn by everyone from farmers to fisherman, usually over their heavy woollen Aran jumper, to give an extra warm layer of clothing without the restriction of sleeves!
